The American Cribbage Congress, established in 1980, is a non-profit organization dedicated to making the game of cribbage fun and fair for people of all ages.
To this end, the Congress sponsors hundreds of sanctioned tournaments each year through out North America. Winners of these tournaments can earn Master Rating Points, trophies, and cash awards.
The ACC also awards $100 for every 29-hand earned in sanctioned play as well as certificates for all 28-hands.
A standardized rules and scoring system has been established with players earning points for their performances though out the season. The ACC season runs from August 1 - July 31. The player who earns the most points in a season is crowned as the National Champion. In 2020/2021 this honor went to Erik Royland Locke of Wood Village, OR. The top ten in points are the season's All-American team. Statistics are maintained each year and lifetime awards are also presented. Any one earning 2,000 lifetime points is honored as a Master player; 4,000 points earns Grand Master and 6,000 are needed for Life Master status.
The ACC also has local Grass Roots clubs, that meet in small and large towns across the country each week. Players range in ages from as young as single digits to as old as triple digits! The camaraderie of our members is outstanding.
In addition to the tournaments, ACC members also receive a monthly magazine, Cribbage World, that keeps members in touch with what's going in the world of cribbage. Included are recaps of tournaments around the country, schedules and point standings as well as interesting stats and asides.
The ACC has an Internet Cribbage Tournament program. Individuals from around the world play cribbage on the Internet several times a week.
